The Elizabeth Avakian Scholarship Fund
The Elizabeth Avakian Scholarship Fund provides over $150,000 annually in scholarship support to over one third of SFGC’s choristers. Created out of the belief that all young people should have access to music education, the fund ensures that SFGC can support the needs of each family and chorister for as long as she is a member of the Chorus. The fund is more critical now than ever before, and SFGC is even more committed to making sure every young singer can continue in the Chorus during these challenging times.
How to Apply for Financial Assistance
We offer financial assistance for all programs. Scholarship applications are reviewed by a Scholarship Committee of the SFGC Board of Directors. Scholarships are entirely need-based.
The Scholarship Application can be found as a payment option on both our Summer and year-long program financial forms.
Important! After completing the scholarship application for our summer programs, you will not need to resubmit a scholarship application for Fall programs.
Materials to Prepare
If you are unable to provide a recent pay stub or tax return document, please let us know and we can be in touch about alternative submission materials.
*The letter to the committee is optional, but encouraged. This is a great opportunity to detail your financial situation.
