This truly unique collaborative concert brings leading Bay Area artists Diana Gameros, Jackie Gage, and Cava Menzies and the San Francisco Girls Chorus together with other incredible singers, songwriters, and instrumentalists to be announced, as we honor the Feminine in all its stages of life. The concert will feature new lullabies created in Noe Music’s Lullaby Project alongside the world premiere of a new work for the SF Girls Chorus and instrumentalists by Cava Menzies with lyrics generated from Bay Area community members to commemorate this special gathering.

On Friday, April 14, 2023 the San Francisco Girls Chorus will return to the Julia Morgan Ballroom to celebrate Artistic Director Valérie Sainte-Agathe and her ten incredible years of artistic leadership during our 44th Annual Gala and Auction!
San Francisco Girls Chorus members will participate as vocalizing penguins in the world premiere at Herbst Theatre of Prospero's Island, a fantastical new chamber opera based on Shakespeare's The Tempest from acclaimed Bay Area opera creators Allen Shearer and Claudia Stevens. The co-production by Ninth Planet ensemble and InTandem features stunning imagery of the Falkland Islands, richly orchestrated music performed by Ninth Planet players, and glorious singing by a stellar cast. Mark your calendars for this unique and exciting production!
The San Francisco Girls Chorus partners with Chanticleer to present a concert full of new works and new sounds. Experience both groups as you’ve never heard them before on repertoire neither ensemble would be able to perform alone. After two years away, SFGC returns to Davies Symphony Hall for its annual December concert that showcases all six levels of the Choral school, as well as the award-winning Premiere Ensemble, and SFGC Alums, in a dynamic program of spirituals, cutting-edge vocal works, and a few familiar holiday favorites, including Silent Night.
Sometimes, a gift isn’t just a gift. It’s a key to a new world. A young heroine. A Nutcracker-turned-prince. The small but mighty army of mice. The beautiful conclusion of a sugar plum celebration. It’s a story so good, it bears retelling again and again.

Everyone who loves singing will enjoy this special event. We will sing holiday favorites and a few new songs too! Recommended for ages 10 and up. All voices are welcome! All music is SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass).
The GRAMMY award winning Premiere Ensemble presents the choral premiere of Kamala’s Hope by San Francisco-based composer Candace Forest. Soprano Shawnette Sulker, cellist Emil Miland, and organist Jerome Lenk perform alongside for this work based on two Vice-Presidential acceptance speeches given by then Senator Kamala Harris in August 2020. The program also includes the world premiere of I See You, I Hear You, I Believe You by American composer Ursula Kwong-Brown, written in the wake of the #MeToo movement, as well as three SFGC commissions by Angélica Negrón, Amy X Neuburg, and Pamela Z.
The San Francisco Conservatory Orchestra, led by SFCM Music Director Edwin Outwater, will perform Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 3. The performance will also feature members of the San Francisco Girls Chorus, the San Francisco Boys Chorus and the SFCM Conservatory Chorus.
